Ponder on this. . . . .

*Sorry I decided not to check my grammar or anything for this post, I just wrote...

Now Playing: The Ride - Drake ft. The Weeknd

I usually don't blog too often as most of you know but today I woke up and just decided to give it a run....

I listen to The Weeknd, ALOT. Not only because he's considered habesha and I think his music is sick but......I think I can relate to him a bit....

No i am not a pill poppin, henny sippin, and mary jane blowing person, but i think i can relate to him in a mental phase. For all my eritrean/ethopian readers right now think about this, why doesn't The Weeknd show his culture out to the public? He's a lowkey and underground person, i understand that, but at the same time, think about this......why should he?

The Weeknd lives the big life that some of us want, some don't, but the life that habesha people fear.......and thats pretty fucked up if you ask me. A typical habesha man is suppose to become either a doctor or business man, have kids and a wife and live the way our habesha CULTURE WANTS and not what some people actually want.....thats pretty fucked up. I only date habesha women, i'll come out and say that, but our culture is composed of the most judgemental human beings on the face of the earth....deal with it. Going back to what I was saying, don't you find it messed up that the life that somebody enjoys and makes his career off of is hated?

The Weeknd has a selected few amount of people he keeps close tides with, pretty much his crew. Want to know something funny? None of them are ethopian or eritrean at all...mainly because those people just live life instead of having to be accepted by their cultures..

I'm not writing this blog to go against my culture....i love being eritrean till the day i die, but i hate our cultures mindset. . . .

Why should a child be born into a culture that hates you for living YOUR life the way you want?

To most extent, I wouldn't blame The Weeknd one bit if he went the rest of his career never saying anything about him being ethopian...i just wont. He lives the life that our culture would hate for individuals of his age, instead of going to school to be a doctor, he's making music that he wants to keep making for the rest of his life. He apparently doesnt fit into our habesha fold because he's not doing what somebody else wants him to do....that's fucked up.

The last thing i want you all to ponder on is this.......most of you know i want to become a sports broadcaster and i am pretty good at it....if i suddenly became famous on TV and Radio throughout the entire world, i would be in the same boat as The Weeknd.....not because we'd both be famous, but because we both enjoy living lives that our culture thinks we shouldnt. thats fucked up......

Rapid Reaction: Ellis and Udoh to the BC.

Now Playing: The Morning - The Weeknd

Raise up brew city babies, the Milwaukee Bucks have made a smart move. No they didn't acquire Dwight Howard, but John Hammonds has made progress. For the first time in a while, Bucks fans can become excited again. On Tuesday, the Bucks made the first major trade approaching the NBA Trade Deadline as the team parted ways with lego built Center Andrew Bogut and disgruntled Forward Stephen Jackson and sent them packing over the bridge to Oakland for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh, and Kwame Brown. (Yay Kwame!)

In a move to help the Bucks tighten up their 8th seed to slide into the playoffs, John Hammond made the move to pair Ellis with starting Point Guard Brandon Jennings to form possibly the fastest front court in the league. Hammond also said he made the move to help Jennings most importantly and to keep him in Milwaukee for the coming years. For the Warriors, sadly they then shifted Jackson to the Spurs in a deal before the deadline. But the Warriors won't be able to touch (and hopefully not break) the often injured Andrew Bogut until next season. Furthermore, the Bucks as of right now are the winners in the trade deal.

To be brief, the Bucks finally made the right deal to pair a consistent shooter with a non consistent shooter in Brandon Jennings. They also added a younger post man that while he is young, could develop into another top defender for the team. With Sanders, Luc Richard and now Udoh, it could be block city in Milwaukee. As for Golden state, Mark Jackson could have founder his premier defender down low to accompany David Lee in Bogut. The entire league knows of the potential that Bogut is capable of, it will all just come down to whether or not his body will let him fulfill it or not.

The Knowing

Well folks, I am back into the world of media on Blogger after a short leave. A lot has changed since my last blog, I graduated high school, received my first internship, I am attending the horrid world of college, and I tried sushi for the first time ever. Just for the record, whomever invented or rolled the first ever sushi roll, please stay away from my funeral.

Inspired by Stevie Johnson, on every blog article I write from now on, I will start off by letting you all know the music I am listening to while I am blogging as well.

Thanks Stevie!

On top of me letting you all know the music I am listening too while blogging, I also decided to let you all know the people/places I want to dedicate my past week too. Considering this is my first blog of 2012, I am just going to let Michael Vick take the dog out the bag and give my first dedications to the people/places within the last month that I hold close to my heart:

  • Michael Turner
  • Zeus
  • Bob from the US Postal Office that helped me return my rented college textbooks.
  • Metta World Peace (Ron Artest)
  • Stephen A. Smith
  • Maurice Jones-Drew
  • Tinashe Kachingwe
  • Timothy Tebow
  • Olive Garden
  • Sophia Grace Brownlee

Considering my laptop is currently on the fritz and I am using somebody else's to write this, I have to cut this blog post short for the week. Either way, expect weekly blogs from me, follow me on Twitter (@AronYohannes), and listen in to "4th and Goal" with myself and my co-host Eric Zizich live streaming on WIPZ.org EVERY Wednesday from 3-5. Were not average Joe's, both interns with ESPN and work hard at WHAT WE DEW..........Mountain.

Have a great week everyone.

xoxo

P.S. It's 9:34 on a Friday, DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR KIDS ARE?
