Raise up brew city babies, the Milwaukee Bucks have made a smart move. No they didn't acquire Dwight Howard, but John Hammonds has made progress. For the first time in a while, Bucks fans can become excited again. On Tuesday, the Bucks made the first major trade approaching the NBA Trade Deadline as the team parted ways with lego built Center Andrew Bogut and disgruntled Forward Stephen Jackson and sent them packing over the bridge to Oakland for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh, and Kwame Brown. (Yay Kwame!)
In a move to help the Bucks tighten up their 8th seed to slide into the playoffs, John Hammond made the move to pair Ellis with starting Point Guard Brandon Jennings to form possibly the fastest front court in the league. Hammond also said he made the move to help Jennings most importantly and to keep him in Milwaukee for the coming years. For the Warriors, sadly they then shifted Jackson to the Spurs in a deal before the deadline. But the Warriors won't be able to touch (and hopefully not break) the often injured Andrew Bogut until next season. Furthermore, the Bucks as of right now are the winners in the trade deal.
To be brief, the Bucks finally made the right deal to pair a consistent shooter with a non consistent shooter in Brandon Jennings. They also added a younger post man that while he is young, could develop into another top defender for the team. With Sanders, Luc Richard and now Udoh, it could be block city in Milwaukee. As for Golden state, Mark Jackson could have founder his premier defender down low to accompany David Lee in Bogut. The entire league knows of the potential that Bogut is capable of, it will all just come down to whether or not his body will let him fulfill it or not.
